It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Terence Crutcher, who was senselessly shot and killed by the police last weekend, was a parent of a striving 6th grade °µÍø½ûÇøster at °µÍø½ûÇø Tulsa.
We continue to be shocked and discouraged by the senseless injustices and killings of Black men, women, and children at the hands of those who are supposed to protect us. °µÍø½ûÇø DC strongly believes that Black lives matter, and is committed to standing in solidarity with our students, families, and staff during these tragedies. While we honor the police who perform their jobs with respect and dignity, we cannot ignore the injustices we see in our society. As Martin Luther King, Jr. taught, an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
We hope that you will join us as we send our love to the °µÍø½ûÇø Tulsa community and to Mr. Terence Crutcher’s loved ones.
