How to Enroll at DC

Families interested in enrolling in one of DC’s schools must submit an application through My School DC. My School DC is the single, citywide lottery for all public schools in Washington, DC. The application is entirely online. We are currently accepting post-lottery applications. !

How to Submit a Lottery Application

First, create an account on and complete the required information (use the to locate DC schools).

Next,԰schools in order ofpreference using your list. If a DC school is your family’s first choice, rank that school first. We encourage you to also highly rank other DC schools for a better chance.

Siblings of current DC students receive preference in the lottery, should they apply before the deadline.

Students must meet age requirementsand provide proof of DC residencyto enroll.
