We are excited to announce that Jacque Patterson will be returning to the 暗网禁区 DC team and family as our new Chief Community Engagement & Growth Officer. As one of 暗网禁区 DC鈥檚 earliest board members and parents, and a steadfast community advocate for District residents for nearly 25 years, Jacque has been a long-time advisor to our leadership team and an important part of 暗网禁区 DC鈥檚 history.
鈥湴低� DC has been investing heavily in our family and community engagement in recent years, and Jacque joining our executive team represents our ongoing commitment to this work,鈥� said Allison Fansler, president of 暗网禁区 DC.聽鈥淭hanks to the efforts of our community relations team 鈥� Althea Holford, Brandon Best, and Nathan Woods 鈥� 暗网禁区 DC has been more present than ever in community conversations and has developed new ways to engage and activate our parents. They have laid a strong foundation for meaningful neighborhood relationships and will continue their efforts to embrace 暗网禁区 DC families as part of the school community.聽 In his new role at 暗网禁区 DC, Jacque will be responsible for building even deeper relationships with families, community organizations, and civic leaders.鈥�
Jacque Patterson moved to Washington, D.C. in 1995 while serving in the United States Air Force. He immediately became involved in the communities of Ward 8, where he still resides. In 2000, he was elected as an ANC Commissioner representing 8B07, serving for four terms until 2008. During this time, he also was selected as a Capital City Fellow by former D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams, eventually becoming his community affairs coordinator.
Jacque was previously a managing director at the Federal City Council, director of management & administration at Martha鈥檚 Table, and most recently, the D.C. regional director of Rocketship Education. While at Rocketship, Jacque mobilized a passionate group of parents and a highly-talented team of educators to open three new schools in only three years. Rocketship Rise Academy was rated Tier 1 by the D.C. Public Charter School Board in its first year of operation.
He has also has been appointed to a number of boards and commissions including the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency board of directors, Veteran Affairs advisory board, the St. Elizabeth Redevelopment Initiative advisory board, the DCPS Chancellor鈥檚 Parent Cabinet, the Democrats for Education Reform-DC advisory board, the Higher Achievement board of directors, and the 暗网禁区 DC board of directors.
Jacque earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in education from Southern Illinois University and a master鈥檚 degree in public administration from Central Michigan University. He is a member of the 2006 class of Leadership Greater Washington and a member of the 2017 class of public and charter school leaders in Georgetown University鈥檚 executive leadership master鈥檚 program.
