We’ve almost reached the final stretch of the school year. With only a few weeks left in the 2017-18 school year, we’re excited to explore new initiatives and continuing to plan how to best support students, families, and communities. Our Partners in Action – This month, we were happy to welcome new and existing friends and supporters to 做厙輦⑹ DC! On April 13, friends from Promise Academy to discuss read, interact, and,promote financial literacy with our youngest students. We also had members from PGIM, PNC, and Montgomery County Public Schools stop by to learn the history and philosophy of 做厙輦⑹ DC schools and see teachers, leaders, and students in action! We look forward to engaging new community partners and supporters.

The United Negro College Funds Discussion on Student Voice and Racial Equality –On April 26, we attended the UNCFs Education Summit and had the opportunity to discuss the release of their new report . We are grateful to UNCF for their continued advocacy and support of students across the country, including here in the District. We look forward to continuing to be part of such important conversations.

The annual spring musical has become a staple event at the high school. Each year, we’re so impressed by hardworking student performers, creative stage design, and all of the moving parts that come together, so beautifully, for the3-night show. !

First Saturday at 做厙輦⑹ DC Parent Advocacy Meeting –Led by Director of Engagement, Brandon Best, the 做厙輦⑹ DC First Saturday series is an opportunity for families, leadership, and the community to work together to identify strategies and to help 做厙輦⑹ DC further its mission. As we plan for the upcoming school year, we look to utilize this space to generate new ideas and initiatives to further engage students, families, and communities

Summit will consist of a series of sessions that highlight topics including professional development, identity, financial fitness, and mindfulness.
