Thurgood Marshall Safe Passage EventSafe Passage Community Conversation Series

Through our partnership with the Deputy Mayor for Education’s Office, this month we brought together students, community members, and policymakers for the third and fourth convening of our Safe Passage of community discussions. As educators and community members, we’re committed to ensuring each of our students’ commute to and from school is safe and free of harm. We hosted two Safe Passage community discussions at Washington Global and D.C. Prep – Benning Campus. In partnership with the Deputy Mayor for Education’s office, we were able to work together using a design thinking approach, to identify community assets and resources along with potential barriers to student safe passage. Read more about the student-led recommendations more on our Safe Passage events and RSVP to join us for the City-Wide Convening on May 15, 2019, where we will support students from all over the City as they present their ideas on safety to the Deputy Mayor for Education.
