in the Community – November 2018 Edition

Hot Topic:

This fall, we kicked off a series of conversations between  DC College Preparatory high school students and D.C. Councilmembers called “A Mile in My Shoes”. The series aims to give students an opportunity to speak with city leaders on issues that impact them daily. This month, DC College Preparatory senior Jasmine met with Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White to discuss safe passage for students. White joined her on her commute to school and experienced what it’s like to walk a mile in her shoes.

DC students have met with both Councilmembers Robert White and Trayon White and look forward to connecting with other city leaders. Check out their journey on DC’s .

Stay tuned for more “A Mile in My Shoes” conversations!
