Parent Spotlight – Mrs. Shaniola Arowolaju

°µÍø½ûÇø DC is proud to celebrate the contributions of our families in the community. This month, we’re spotlighting Mrs. Shaniola Arowolaju, a D.C. native and a longtime member of the °µÍø½ûÇø DC family, and a parent of three °µÍø½ûÇøsters at our Douglass Campus.

Mrs. Arowolaju has been a °µÍø½ûÇø DC parent since 2013. She is also a valued member of °µÍø½ûÇø DC’s Parent Advisory Board, composed of parents from various campuses. They meet regularly to provide their input on developing °µÍø½ûÇø DC’s policies and projects. “I do everything I can to support. Whenever they call for volunteers, I’m always ready to serve. I love helping with the Parent Advisory meetings, providing supplies for donations, and going on field trips!”

The inspiration for her involvement in °µÍø½ûÇø DC stems from the support she feels from °µÍø½ûÇø DC teachers and staff. “I enjoy assisting staff because they love what they do and genuinely care about our children. Whatever support they need, I am happy to assist. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication, not just for my children but all children.”

Her mantra is to touch and inspire every person she interacts with, which she practices daily within the community. “What motivates me is ensuring that my kids and every kid I’m around feel supported. Not all parents have the flexibility to give the time that I can, and I want my presence to help our children feel supported.”

When she’s not volunteering on campus or working at the Customs and Border Protection, she enjoys spending quality family time with her husband and children. She’s always excited about going to her children’s extracurricular activities too. We are thrilled to have her as a community member and December’s Parent Spotlight!
