Peace Rally Flyer

A shuttle has been implemented to transport students from the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro Station to °µÍø½ûÇø DC College Preparatory to increase student safety to and from school. Thank you to the Metropolitan Police Department and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education for partnering with us in this effort!

°µÍø½ûÇø DC, in partnership with Ward 7 resident and advocate Ms. Veeda Rasheed, are excited to announce the 3rd annual “Stop the Violence, Increase the Peace” rally scheduled for Saturday, September 15 at our Benning Campus. Students, families, community partners, and city officials will come together to bring attention to one of our highest priorities, the safety and vibrancy of our community. Join us in September as we give voice to students on this important issue.

This November we will host our first student-led Stop the Violence Design Day. If you are interested in partnering with us on this effort, please contact Althea Holford.

°µÍø½ûÇø DC at Ferebee HopeFerebee Hope Back-to-School Event

On August 18, the engagement team joined the DC Department of Parks & Recreation and the Ward 8 community at the Ferebee Hope back-to-school event! It was an exciting day of meeting community members and organizations, while also providing students & families with backpacks, t-shirts, and other essentials to head back to school.

Byte Back

July 30th was the start of classes offered through our partnership with Byte Back, and we’re thrilled with the strides students have made.  With Byte Back, participants have the opportunity to learn Microsoft Office skills and gain a certification through this class. Our First Day of School

Welcome Back! This month, we welcomed back students on August 3 for the first day of the 2018-19 school year. Our campuses were filled with big smiles, hugs, and a few tears of joy as and students and families returned for a new exciting school year. Each year, we’re especially proud to welcome our PreK3 students and families to their first day of school ever! We are excited to begin an excellent educational journey to and through college with our youngest learners. Check out .

°µÍø½ûÇø Codes Hosts Demo Day

This month °µÍø½ûÇø Codes participants had the opportunity to showcase their coding projects at Demo Day. Several local community leaders joined us at the °µÍø½ûÇø DC Resource Center to listen as students shared projects created to solve everyday problems. Participants created a diverse range of apps from one that improves school security to others that bring sports fans together. Most importantly, they gained valuable skills towards success in the growing tech industry. Thank you to all of the elected officials and community partners that attended and made the event a success.

NAF Academy °µÍø½ûÇø DC

Penn Branch Civic Association Community Block Party

Members of the community engagement team were out and about at the Penn Branch Community Block Party on August 11. There was fun, food, and plenty of smiles to go around as the team met and interacted with many students, families, and community members!

NAF Academy Provides Job Readiness at °µÍø½ûÇø DC College Preparatory

The partnership between the National Academy of Finance (NAF) and °µÍø½ûÇø DC College Preparatory launched in August and we are proud to offer this unique opportunity to °µÍø½ûÇøsters. Forty sophomores will work with NAF to gain the tools and experience needed for success in the finance industry. Through both work-based learning and engagement opportunities with business professionals, students will complete their high school journey with a direct path to careers and success in finance.

  • Miles Memorial Church Block Party – Come meet the team at Miles Memorial’s annual block party of September 29 in Ward 6 (501 N St NW)
